We're Building Something
We need your support to make it happen

What we’re building with Blacknuss Network is not content—it’s infrastructure. For over forty years, from Blacklight to BFM to Black World Cinema to blacknuss.tv, this work has been about one thing: creating spaces where Black cinema is not filtered, softened, or reshaped to fit someone else’s system. That mission hasn’t changed. What has changed is the environment around it—more platforms, more noise, more illusion of access—but less actual control. Blacknuss exists to push against that, to create a space where the work can live on its own terms, and where the audience is not treated like data, but like a community with memory, intelligence, and stake.
That only works if it’s supported directly.
We don’t have a corporate backer underwriting screenings. We don’t have a platform algorithm deciding who sees what. Every screening, every gathering, every piece of programming is built the same way—by people who believe in it enough to sustain it. So we’ve released a collection of Blacknuss Network shirts as part of that effort. These aren’t just designs—they carry the language and position behind the work, from “HOLLYWON’T / HOLLYAIN’T / HOLLYCAN’T” to the Oscar Micheaux series, each one rooted in the same question: who controls the image, and who benefits from it.
If you’ve been in the room, if you’ve read the essays, if you understand what’s at stake here, then you already know this isn’t about merchandise. It’s about keeping this space alive and expanding it on our own terms.
